Voy a extrañarlos mucho; nuestras largas horas de trabajo hasta altas horas de la madrugada, nuestras discusiones, pero buena gente por sobre todas las cosas.



Las VII Jornadas de Formación para Líderes Juveniles Solidarios de Cascos Blancos, se llevaron a cabo en el CAECOPAZ (Centro Argentino de Entrenamiento Conjunto para Operaciones de Paz) y participamos unos 150 jóvenes de todo el país; voluntarios universitarios y de organizaciones de la sociedad civil que venimos trabajando solidariamente contra el hambre, la pobreza y la prevención de desastres. Se buscó establecer lazos de cooperación entre la universidad y la comunidad.

Los alumnos de 3º y 2° año de Polimodal en Ciencias Naturales del Colegio Provincial Nº 747 “Colegio Nacional de Trelew” intentan contribuir a la mitigación de la desertificación en nuestra provincia, a través de un Proyecto de Intervención Comunitaria (PIC) de repoblamiento vegetal con especies nativas en áreas afectadas por procesos de este tipo. La experiencia se implementa mediante la articulación de los espacios curriculares de “Proyecto de investigación e intervención comunitaria” (3° año) y “Biología II” (2° año), junto con la Red GEO Juvenil Argentina (Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente) y la Estación Experimental Agropecuaria Trelew del INTA. Asimismo, la iniciativa adhiere a la campaña mundial del PNUMA “Plantemos para el Planeta”.



La implementación del PIC demandará un período de trabajo de dos ciclos lectivos (2007-2008), aunque existe la posibilidad de replicación. El proceso general comprende las siguientes etapas:

1. Caracterización del área degradada y relevamiento preliminar.

2. Siembra en vivero y cuidados.

3. Repique a almacigueros.

4. Rustificación.

5. Plantación en campo y monitoreo.

6. Cosecha de semillas.



Como parte del 1° punto realizamos el pasado miércoles 31/10 un trabajo de campo en el área elegida para repoblar con especies vegetales nativas. La misma se encuentra próxima a la ciudad de Trelew (10,5 km desde la escuela) y está afectada por procesos de desertificación leve. Recogimos información sobre las distintas características estructurales de la comunidad: diversidad de especies, abundancia de especies, estratificación, bioformas predominantes, estructura trófica y relaciones interespecíficas. Tales insumos recogidos están ahora siendo procesados y analizados, realizando los necesarios atravesamientos con la teoría para poder retroalimentar nuestro diseño de investigación y ajustar algunas variables de análisis.
