Si bien el evento empezó a las 9 AM como estaba previsto; los preparativos comenzaron muy temprano: a las 7:30 AM. Había mucho que hacer: oscurecer el salón principal de la escuela donde se proyectaría la película, acomodar las sillas, colocar y ajustar cañón, pc, reproductor de DVD, micrófono y altoparlantes. Nada de esto hubiera podido hacer sin la gran ayuda de Gastón Pilloff, Luis Vergara, Celeste Pichaud, Carolina Vidal, los chicos y chicas de 1º3º de Ciencias Naturales y Rosana Coria. Los directivos de la escuela, Alicia Young y Martín Medina también nos ayudaron desde lo operativo.

El cronograma de trabajo se desarrolló con normalidad. Lamentablemente no pudimos ver el spot del PNUMA por el Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente 2007, ni el corto "Pole to pole", debido a cuestiones técnicas que no pudimos resolver. La Prof. Alicia Young, Directora del Colegio Provincial Nº 747 fue la responsable de abrir oficialmente el evento. Seguidamente yo hice un breve encuadre de los fundamentos de conmemorar el DMMA 2007 y de la problemática del cambio climático mundial. Carolina Vidal y Celeste Pichaud, alumnas de 3º de Ciencias Naturales, presentaron los lineamientos del PIC que están diseñando como contribución contra la desertificación en Chubut, en el marco de la implementación en la provincia de GEO Juvenil Argentina. Luego, Luis Vergara (también de 3º de C. Naturales) presentó la Campaña Mundial "Plantemos para el Planeta" del PNUMA, y desatacó la adhesión del PIC a dicha Campaña. Seguidamente, se proyectó "Una verdad incómoda".

Luego de la proyección de la película, alumnos y docentes volvieron a los respectivos cursos e iniciaron el debate y reflexión. Mientras, Rosana y yo recorrimos cada curso y entregamos papeles afiches, pinturas y fibras para que plasmaran sus conclusiones.

Participaron alrededor de 300 jóvenes de 15 a 19 años, más una decena de profesores. Como suele suceder en cualquier evento, algunos respondieron con más entusiasmo y compromiso que otros, pero el saldo fue muy positivo. Surgieron inquietudes, ganas de darle continuidad al evento.
